Ok, I bought a 1991 Platinum Mist Metallic 5 speed TT from tt.net member ColdWiz (he's only posted like twice, but he's on here often). It has a blown/overheated engine that is not my concern since I have the engine I'm working on building up, as well as the engine I just bought from Bernie that I could put into it. ANYWAY, here's the thing: He said that the engine that is in it now had some funky "bronze pieces" in the oil pan when he removed it. Any idea what in the world this could be? Assume the turbos are fine and these aren't "melted pieces of copper from the center bearings of the turbo". These pieces are NOT, repeat NOT magnetic either which would mean it's "probably" copper (well, it's not steel) and it could be discolored aluminum. I'm just wondering what in the world it is, and if any of you guys know? It's just baffled me sitting here thinking about it. (Frank, if you read this, maybe we'll get some answers to what this is!). So, what do you guys think this could be? Parts of the main bolts? Something from the turbos (but assume they are ok), etc? Thanks in advance.
